Give as You Earn is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice. It is also known as Payroll Giving and workplace giving. It is a scheme run through HMRC and administered by Charities Trust and means that your donation is deducted before tax.
For example, making a £20 donation to PSC Support will only cost you £16.00 or £12 if you are a higher rate taxpayer.
- As a 20% taxpayer, the total donated to PSC Support £20 - you pay £16
- As a 40% taxpayer, the total donated to PSC Support £20 - you pay £12
This is the only way higher rate taxpayers can pass on their 40% or 45% to charity.
Donating to PSC Support through your workplace is a way of showing that you believe in our efforts to support those affected by PSC. There are no paid staff at PSC Support; everybody volunteers their time freely to help others affected by PSC and so that every penny of your donation is put to good use. Our vision is to live in a world where there is a cure for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis.
