Code of Conduct

Code of conduct for Research Panel members, external reviewers, applicants and PSC Support.

  1. Details of research applications and related correspondence, Research Panel meetings’ papers, and the identity of external reviewers are strictly confidential and must be kept secure and not disseminated to or discussed with others outside the review process.

  2. Research Panel members’ and external reviewers’ can expect their comments to be treated in confidence by PSC Support. When we inform applicants of the outcome of their applications, we provide anonymous versions of reviewers’ comments, and may also summarise the conclusion reached by the Research Panel. Information that might identify the comments of individual Research Panel members or external reviewers is never revealed.

  3. Applicants can expect that details of their applications will not be disclosed to those outside the review process by PSC Support.

  4. External reviewers will be notified of the final decisions of any applications they have reviewed. External reviewers must agree to treat all details of applications and their outcomes as confidential.

  5. Research Panel members must declare any connection or Conflict of Interest with an application. They must then withdraw from consideration of that application, and will receive no further communications or details regarding that application.

  6. Applicants must not make direct contact with members of the Research Panel.

  7. This Code of Conduct applies to informal enquiries made by an applicant prior to the full application being received.
