How patients use online resources

PSC Support is delighted to be identified as a trusted patient resource

How patients use online information

The internet is awash with information; some of it good, some of it inaccurate, some of it plain bad. It is right that we remain careful and critical of online resources, which is why PSC Support's medical content is always reviewed by our panel of PSC clinical experts.

We were delighted to be identified as a trusted patient resources in an article published in 2014 in the Nursing Times and co-authored by patient, Kevin MacCabe. The article looks at how patients should approach the internet for medical research to become empowered and cited PSC Support as a 'reliable' website.

"I am so pleased to see PSC Support being recognised as a quality resource for anyone affected by PSC. This peer reviewed paper not only endorses our approach on providing accurate, accessible, up to date information, but also delivers useful tips and approaches for us all to use when researching online," said Martine Walmsley, Chair of Trustees, PSC Support.
