New COVID-19 Guidance for England

New Guidance on Social Distancing

England

Social distancing

The Government is easing restrictions on social distancing from 13 May 2020 in England.

Do the changes affect me?

Continue shielding for extremely vulnerable

There are no changes to the advice for people who are shielding (clinically extremely vulnerable people), and shielding is expected to continue until the end of June, but the position for extremely vulnerable people is being reviewed regularly.

Minimise contact with others outside home for clinically vulnerable

People who are clinically vulnerable (not clinically extremely vulnerable) are advised by the Government to stay at home as much as possible and, if you do go out, take particular care to minimise contact with others outside your household.
